  • 1 pound ground chicken can substitute with ground turkey
  • 0.25 cup finely chopped green onions chives can be a substitute
  • 0.5 cup diced bell pepper use red or yellow for color
  • 0.25 cup chopped cilantro can substitute with parsley
  • 2 cloves garlic minced; fresh is best
  • 1 tablespoon lime juice freshly squeezed preferred
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt adjust if using table salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon red pepper flakes adjust based on heat preference
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil can substitute with avocado oil
For the Salad
  • 4 cups mixed greens choose your favorite leafy greens
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil for salad dressing
  • 0.5 tablespoon lime juice

Preparation
  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine ground chicken, green onions, bell pepper, cilantro, garlic, lime juice, kosher salt, red pepper flakes, and olive oil. Mix gently to combine.
  2. Divide the mixture into four equal portions and form into patties about ¾ inch thick.
  3. Preheat a skillet over medium-high heat and add olive oil, swirling to coat.
  4. Cook the patties for 2.5 to 3 minutes on one side, then flip and cook for an additional 2.5 minutes until cooked through.
  5. In a separate bowl, toss mixed greens with olive oil, lime juice, and kosher salt.
  6. Serve the cooked burgers with the salad and garnish with avocado and tomato slices if desired.
