Making the Pizza
- Season short ribs with salt and pepper. Sear in a skillet over medium-high heat for 4-5 minutes on each side until brown. Cook in a slow cooker with broth on low for 6-8 hours. Shred meat and set aside.
- In a saucepan, melt butter. Sauté onions and garlic until translucent. Stir in heavy cream and let simmer. Add shredded smoked gouda until melted. Season with salt and pepper.
- Roll out pizza dough to about 12-inch round. Transfer to a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Pre-bake in a 475°F oven for 5 minutes.
- Spread gouda cream sauce over pre-baked dough. Top with shredded short ribs and any additional toppings.
- Bake assembled pizza for 12-15 minutes until crust is golden and cheese is bubbling.
- Let pizza cool for a few minutes. Drizzle with olive oil and garnish with fresh herbs. Serve hot.
