  • 1 cup Florida Strawberries fresh and ripe for best flavor
  • 2 tablespoons Lemon Juice freshly squeezed recommended

  • ½ cup Sugar adjust based on preference, alternatives like honey or agave syrup work
For the Drink
  • 8 ounces Carbonated Water consider flavored sparkling water for an exciting twist

Method
 

Juicing and Making Syrup
  1. Wash 1 cup of Florida strawberries, remove tops, and blend until smooth. Strain through a fine mesh sieve to separate juice from pulp.
  2. Combine the strawberry juice, ½ cup of sugar, and 2 tablespoons of lemon juice in a saucepan. Add 4-5 basil leaves. Heat until boiling, then simmer for about 5 minutes.
  3. Strain the syrup through a fine mesh sieve into a clean container and cool for about 15 minutes.
Assembling the Spritzer
  1. In a tall glass, pour 2 tablespoons of the cooled strawberry syrup and fill with 8 ounces of chilled carbonated water, gently stirring to combine.
  2. Garnish with whole strawberries and a sprig of fresh basil. Serve immediately.
