Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13 inch baking dish generously with butter or non-stick spray.
  2. Cut your day-old white bread into 1-inch cubes and layer half in the greased baking dish.
  3. Layer the ham, turkey, and Swiss cheese evenly over the first layer of bread.
  4. Add the remaining bread cubes on top, pressing down gently.
  5. Whisk together the large eggs, milk, maple syrup, salt, and pepper until well combined.
  6. Pour the egg mixture evenly over the layered ingredients and let it sit for 5 to 10 minutes.
  7. Drizzle melted butter evenly over the top of the casserole.
  8. Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 30 minutes. Remove foil and bake for another 15 to 20 minutes until golden brown.
  9. Allow to rest for 5 to 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
  10. Serve warm, dusted with powdered sugar and with maple syrup on the side.
