Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare your cake pans by greasing them with butter and dusting with flour.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, mix eggs, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth, then incorporate with dry mixture carefully.
  4. Divide the batter into three bowls. Add melted chocolate to one, pureed strawberries to another, and leave the third plain.
  5. Pour each flavored batter into prepared pans and bake for 25-30 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean.
  6. Let the cakes cool in the pans for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
  7. Place the chocolate layer on a plate and spread cream cheese frosting on top.
  8. Stack the strawberry layer on top of the chocolate and frost as well, then add the vanilla layer.
  9. Cover the entire cake with the remaining frosting and garnish as desired.
