Step‑by‑Step Instructions
- Cream together the butter and powdered sugar in a large mixing bowl until fluffy and pale, about 3-5 minutes.
- Beat in the eggs, milk, vanilla extract, and almond extract until fully combined.
- Slowly mix in the flour and salt until a soft dough forms.
- Divide the dough into three equal portions, color one with purple gel food coloring, leave one plain, and color the last with black gel food coloring.
- Roll out the black and white dough into 6x12-inch rectangles, stack them, and roll together to form the base layers.
- Roll out the purple dough and sprinkle purple sprinkles over it, then roll it into a log and place it on the black and white layers.
- Roll everything together to form a spiral log, squeezing the edges to secure them.
- Roll the log in black or chocolate sprinkles, wrap in plastic wrap, and refrigerate for at least 1 hour.
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C), slice the chilled log into ¼-inch rounds, and place on parchment-lined baking sheets.
- Bake for about 10 minutes until the edges are lightly golden, then cool on a wire rack.
