For the Sprinkle Coating
  • 1 cup Purple Sprinkles
  • 1 cup Black or Chocolate Sprinkles

Equipment

  • Mixing bowl
  • Rolling Pin
  • Knife
  • Baking sheets
  • Parchment paper

Method

Step‑by‑Step Instructions
  1. Cream together the butter and powdered sugar in a large mixing bowl until fluffy and pale, about 3-5 minutes.
  2. Beat in the eggs, milk, vanilla extract, and almond extract until fully combined.
  3. Slowly mix in the flour and salt until a soft dough forms.
  4. Divide the dough into three equal portions, color one with purple gel food coloring, leave one plain, and color the last with black gel food coloring.
  5. Roll out the black and white dough into 6x12-inch rectangles, stack them, and roll together to form the base layers.
  6. Roll out the purple dough and sprinkle purple sprinkles over it, then roll it into a log and place it on the black and white layers.
  7. Roll everything together to form a spiral log, squeezing the edges to secure them.
  8. Roll the log in black or chocolate sprinkles, wrap in plastic wrap, and refrigerate for at least 1 hour.
  9. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C), slice the chilled log into ¼-inch rounds, and place on parchment-lined baking sheets.
  10. Bake for about 10 minutes until the edges are lightly golden, then cool on a wire rack.
