Preparation
- In a medium saucepan over medium heat, combine strawberries, granulated sugar, and lemon juice. Cook for about 10 minutes until thickened, then blend smooth and refrigerate.
- In a stand mixer, combine flour, sugar, salt, and yeast. Add warm milk, butter, and egg. Knead for 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Transfer dough to a greased bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm spot for about 2 hours until doubled in size.
- Roll out the dough into a rectangle. Spread the chilled strawberry filling evenly and roll up tightly. Slice into 12 pieces.
- Place sliced rolls in a greased baking dish, cover, and let rise for another 30-60 minutes until puffy. Preheat oven to 350°F (180°C).
- Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown. Let cool in pan for 10 minutes.
- Beat together cream cheese, butter, powdered sugar, vanilla, and strawberry puree until smooth. Adjust consistency as needed.
- Spread the glaze over warm rolls and serve immediately.
