Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease or line a 9x13-inch baking pan.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together all-purpose flour, baking powder, baking soda, ground nutmeg, and salt.
  3. In a large bowl, cream softened unsalted butter and granulated sugar using an electric mixer until light and fluffy.
  4. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in vanilla extract.
  5. Alternate mixing dry ingredients into the butter mixture with the buttermilk, starting and ending with dry ingredients. Do not over-mix.
  6. Spread the batter evenly in the baking pan and bake for 22-25 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean.
