Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Peel and thinly slice 5-6 medium-sized sweet potatoes into uniform medallions. Arrange the slices in a greased baking dish.
  3. In a medium saucepan over medium heat, melt 4 tablespoons of unsalted butter. Stir in ½ cup of brown sugar, ¾ cup of water, 1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon, ½ teaspoon of ground cloves, and ½ teaspoon of ground nutmeg. Cook until smooth and bubbling, about 3-5 minutes, then remove from heat.
  4. Gently brush about ¾ of the warm sauce over the arranged sweet potatoes, reserving the remaining sauce.
  5. Cover the baking dish tightly with aluminum foil and bake for 45-50 minutes, or until fork-tender.
  6. After baking, remove the foil, drizzle on the remaining sauce, and sprinkle with chopped pecans and mini marshmallows.
  7. Set your oven to broil and place the dish under the broiler for 1-2 minutes, watching closely to avoid burning.
  8. Allow the dish to cool for 10-15 minutes before serving.
