Step-by-Step Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) to bake the pie evenly.
- Peel and slice four medium apples into 1/4-inch thick pieces. Pour 1/3 cup of lemon juice over the slices.
- In a mixing bowl, combine 2 tbsp + 1 tsp of all-purpose flour, 1/4 cup + 1 tsp of granulated sugar, and 1/2 tsp of ground cinnamon.
- Roll out your pie crust and place it into a pie dish. Sprinkle a thin layer of the flour-sugar mixture on the bottom.
- Drain the apple slices and toss them with the prepared dry ingredients until fully coated.
- Layer the coated apple slices into the prepared pie crust and drizzle 3 to 6 tbsp of caramel sauce between the layers.
- Create a lattice crust or place a whole top crust with slits for steam to escape, and brush with an egg wash.
- Bake the pie in the preheated oven for 30 to 35 minutes until golden and bubbly.
- Cool the pie for 30 minutes on a wire rack to let the filling set before slicing.
