Ingredients
  

Filling
  • 1 lb Ground Beef Can substitute with ground chicken or turkey.
  • 2 cloves Garlic Minced.
  • 1 tbsp Fresh Ginger Grated.
  • 1 tbsp Chinese 5-Spice Powder Can substitute with a mix of cinnamon and cloves.
  • 2 tbsp Low-Sodium Soy Sauce Or Tamari for gluten-free.
  • 1 tbsp Thai Chili Sauce Adjust to taste.
  • 1 tbsp Toasted Sesame Oil A neutral oil can be used.
Wrap
  • 4 pieces Flour Tortillas Or Rice Paper for gluten-free.
  • 2 pcs Persian Cucumbers Sliced.
  • 1 cup Fresh Cilantro Chopped.
  • 1 cup Thai Basil Chopped, can substitute with Italian basil.
  • 2 pcs Green Onions Chopped.
  • 1/4 cup Roasted Peanuts Chopped.
Dipping Sauce (Optional)
  • 1 tbsp Honey Adjust for sweetness.
  • 2 tbsp Ketchup Use low-sugar if desired.
  • 1 tsp Chili Paste For extra heat.
  • 1/2 pcs Lime Zest and juice.
  • 1 tbsp Rice Vinegar Can swap with white vinegar.
  • 1 tsp Grated Ginger
  • 1 tsp Grated Garlic

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a small bowl, whisk together 2 tablespoons of low-sodium soy sauce, 1 tablespoon of Thai chili sauce, 1 tablespoon of toasted sesame oil, and 1 teaspoon of Chinese 5-spice powder. Set aside.
  2. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat, add 1 pound of ground beef, and cook for 5–7 minutes until browned.
  3. Add 2 minced garlic cloves and 1 tablespoon of grated fresh ginger, stirring for another 2 minutes until fragrant.
  4. Pour the sauce mixture into the skillet, stir to coat, and cook for 3–4 minutes until the sauce thickens.
  5. Warm tortillas in a skillet or soak rice paper sheets in warm water for 15 seconds.
  6. Place a portion of the beef mixture in the center, top with fresh herbs, cucumbers, green onions, and peanuts, then roll tightly.
  7. For the dipping sauce, whisk together honey, ketchup, chili paste, lime juice, rice vinegar, and grated ginger and garlic.
  8. Serve the rolls warm with the dipping sauce.
