Preparing Chaffles
- Preheat your waffle maker to medium heat, which usually takes about 5 minutes.
- In a mixing bowl, crack open two eggs and whisk them vigorously until well combined. Then, add in the diced ham.
- Gently fold in the freshly grated cheddar cheese until evenly incorporated.
- Scoop about ¼ cup of the mixture and pour it onto the preheated waffle maker, spreading gently.
- Cook the mixture for 3 to 4 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy.
- Carefully lift out the chaffles and place them on a wire rack to cool for about 1 to 2 minutes.
- Repeat the cooking process with the remaining batter, preheating the waffle maker again if necessary.
- Serve warm with a side of salsa or sour cream for dipping.

Notes
Use freshly grated cheese for optimal melting. Avoid overfilling the waffle maker to prevent a mess. Let them cool on a wire rack to maintain crispiness.
