Step-by-Step Instructions for Air Fryer Falafel
  1. Pulse Ingredients: Drain and rinse the canned chickpeas, ensuring they are well-dried. In a food processor, combine the chickpeas with fresh parsley, cilantro, onion, garlic, cumin, coriander, salt, black pepper, and optional cayenne pepper. Pulse until coarse but not smooth.
  2. Mix Flour and Baking Powder: Transfer the chickpea mixture to a bowl, then add the flour, baking powder, and lemon juice. Mix until a cohesive batter forms.
  3. Shape Falafel: Wet hands and scoop portions of the mixture, rolling into balls or flattening into patties. Chill for 30 minutes.
