  • 4 cups Water For blanching
For the Bacon
  • 4 slices Bacon Thick cut recommended
For the Sauce
  • 2 tablespoons Oil Vegetable or olive oil
  • 4 cloves Garlic Finely chopped
  • 3 tablespoons Soy Sauce Tamari for gluten-free option
  • 2 tablespoons Oyster Sauce Or replace with more soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Cornstarch For thickening the sauce

Method
 

Cooking Steps
  1. In a large pot, bring water to a rolling boil, adding a pinch of salt and a splash of oil. Add broccoli and cook for 3-5 minutes until bright green and tender-crisp. Drain thoroughly.
  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, add bacon strips. Cook for 5-7 minutes until crisp. Remove bacon, leaving drippings in the pan.
  3. In the same skillet, lower the heat and sauté garlic in the bacon drippings for 1-2 minutes until golden brown. Whisk together soy sauce, oyster sauce, cornstarch, and some water; pour into the skillet and stir for 10 seconds until combined.
  4. Gently add the drained broccoli, ensuring it's coated with sauce. Stir gently to avoid breaking florets, then add crispy bacon and mix until distributed.
